Corrections, disagreements and gear worth ranging all land at the same counter, and all of them are read.

The Equipment Room is a small operation, and the counter is always staffed by the people who write the entries. There is no communications department, no agency inbox, no form that disappears into a queue. Messages reach the writers directly.

How to write. The best way to reach the journal is by email. The address is listed on the site's service strip. A subject line that names the aisle in question, "Correction: iron entry" or "Gear worth ranging: putter grip", helps a message land on the right desk quickly.

What is welcome. Corrections are always welcome and are acted on promptly. If you spot a factual error in an entry, say what is wrong and, if you can, point to the source that shows it is wrong. Tips about equipment that deserves a look are also welcome, particularly older or lesser-known items that the aisles may have overlooked. Disagreements with a verdict are read and considered, though they do not automatically change it.

What is less welcome. Pitch emails from PR agencies promoting a product launch will be read but are unlikely to change the journal's plans. The Equipment Room sets its own calendar based on what is worth reviewing, not on what is being promoted that week. Unsolicited product samples will not be returned, and sending them does not guarantee coverage.

Response time. Messages are read within a few days of receipt. A reply is not guaranteed for every message, but corrections and substantive questions always receive one.
